Confirmed Service Customer
My 2007 Silverado was purchased new at Chevrolet of South Anchorage #148 and has been regularly serviced there through the years. I took it in Friday, 2/23/2024 because the "Service 4-wheel-drive" light was on. It was to be finished Monday the 26th, and I would get a call to pick it up. On Saturday, I got a call from the mechanic, saying the work was going to be more than expected, so instead of the estimated $233, the bill would be around $1,100. Also, the throttle body needed cleaning, and that would be an additional $700. (The throttle body had been cleaned less than two years ago; about 11,000 miles ago.) So the bill grew and grew, from the estimated $233 to $1,708.87! Very disappointing, but I trusted the necessity. When I hadn't heard by Monday afternoon, I tried numerous times to call the service department, but no one answered. Then I left a message but got no response. Also disappointing. On Tuesday the 27th, I called yet again and got an answer. The truck was ready. No one likes even the hint of a "bait and switch," but this was extreme.
